Mobile Internet technology makes alternative ways for commercial terrestrial
DGPS correction broadcasting in regions like Central Europe redundant. In
regions without mobile Internet access or an existing GSM network the field
proven AMDS technology could be implemented to broadcast DGPS corrections or
other low bandwidth data. Because of the quick installation (1-2 days) and
the use of existing infrastructure (MW or LW radio broadcasting stations)
AMDS is a cost effective way to broadcast permanent or temporary DGPS data
across a larger region.

- Cost effective operation by the use of existing infrastructure.
- Large coverage due to high power MW or LW radio transmitters.
- Stable and secure data transport by AMDS baseband coding (136 Bit/s net data rate).
- Availability of AMDS coders/modulators for the installation at the transmitting stations.
- Availability of AMDS terminals with serial interface to GPS receivers.
- Complete software solution to broadcast of RTCM 2.0 data.
- Long time experiences with the operation of an AMDS/dGPS service.
